Dr. P.N. Pathak Memorial Award
The Dr. P.N. Pathak Memorial Award is a National Award instituted by the Association of Separation Scientists and Technologists (ASSET) for Researchers who have excelled in the field of Separation Science and Technology. This award will be presented biennially to one Researcher of Indian Nationality. The award carries a Gold medal, Citation and Rs. 50,000 as Cash prize.
Dr. P.N. Pathak was born in 1970 and died in 2014 at the age of 44. He was a reputed scientist and was known world wide. Dr. Pathak was a Professor of HBNI and a recognized Ph.D guide for HBNI as well as Pune University. He made outstanding research contributions on separation science and related fields like chemistry of actinides, actinides speciation, cloud point extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, etc. He was a recipient of many awards and had more than 140 journal publications and 5 book chapters to his credit. Dr. Pathak always maintained a high quality in his research activities and made immense contribution in the area of separations relevant for back-end of the nuclear fuel cycle. The statutes of the Dr. P.N. Pathak Memorial Award stipulate that the receipient’s work must be of the highest quality of research with good impact on applications. The third Dr. P.N. Pathak Memorial Award will be bestowed during SESTEC-2020 Symposium to be held at Mumbai.
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates who have immense contributions in the field of Separation Science and Technology.
Eligibility:
(1). Applicant should be an Indian National working in India;
(2). A Researcher or an Academician working in any of the UGC recognized academic institute/ university/ research institute/ R & D centre of an Industrial organization is eligible
(3). Applicant should have Ph.D. in Science/Engineering relevant to the field of Separation Science and Technology
(4) Should be born after January 1, 1968.
(5). Applicant should provide a CV, list of publication, PDF files of best five publications along with a brief write-up in 500 words (post Ph.D. work carried out in India needs to be included) highlighting the achievements made in the field of Separation Science and Technology.
The application, complete in all aspects, should be sent to Dr. Sumit Kumar, Secretary, ASSET on i) sumitk@barc.gov.in and ii) mailtoasset@gmail.com. Selection of the awardee will be made by a panel of experts constituted by ASSET and the decision of the experts panel will be final and binding. The awardee would be given a travel allowance of Rs. 10,000/- or the actual expenditure, which ever is less.
Applications received after December 31, 2019 will not be considered.
